True : Condoms legally commercialized in Europe should at least bear the CE mark and as such should respond to the set of standards fix by the common scheme of the medical device directive and up to date standards. De facto if preserved, handled and used correctly they should offer an adequate level of protection.

False : It is not because you respect standards that you are equal ! Comfort, ease of use, pleasure of use, to name a few can make the difference... IN ADDITION OF RESPONDING TO STANDARDS OKAMOTO CONDOMS ARE KNOWN TO BE THINNER, SOFTER AND YET STRONGER THAN MOST OTHER CONDOMS SOLD. Who is the condoms manufacturer ? The manufacturer is always the manufacturer ?

True : In the sense of the European directive for medical device the manufacturer is the one who affix the CE mark on the product and accept all the liability. He is the one who carries all responsibilities for placing the product to the market.

False : Numerous and prestigious « manufacturers » are subcontracting the manufacturing of the product to companies (contracts manufacturers) largely unknown by the consumers. The products manufactured should by all means be equal to their own products and of course fully respects quality standards. Nevertheless this is done in full opacity for the consumers.

OKAMOTO has been pursuing and challenging an ultimate “Nothing-like” feelings over 80 years with the belief that the essential factors for the feelings are “Thinness” & “Softness,” and pushing the boundary using the world’s most advanced technology. In addition to these 2 factors, needless to say, “Safety” is the most important factor for condom.

The reason why we think “Softness” is important is that it leads to “Closely-Fitting” and “Comfort.” Okamoto condoms are proved to be softer compared to competitor’s items by internal modulus, and you can also see the characteristic by swelling up the condoms by yourself.

All OKAMOTO® Condoms are made of “SHEERLON™,” which is the name for a comprehensive condom processing system originally developed by Okamoto in order to form vulcanizing rubber condoms of natural latex. The product made of “SHEERLON™” possesses three characteristics : softer and thinner but, none the less, stronger, in which Okamoto’s 80 year experience and studies are employed. The system consists of a special compounding formula in the mixing, compounding process and in the molding / vulcanizing process.
